Eurotrails is...

A Multilateral school project, supported by the Lifelong Learning Programme of the EU. The multilateral Comenius school project “Eurotrails” wants to create a trail (route or walk) through the various partner locations. Doing or visiting the eurotrail, students, local people and visitors can experience the presence of European influences, evidence of the EU and its realisations.

Eurotrails is a multilateral Comenius project (2009 – 2011) with partners from Antwerp (be), Chania (el), Kedainiai (lt), Michelstadt (de), Nereto (it), Nový Jičín (cz), and Vejle (dk). In Eurotrails, secondary students established and tried out trails through the participating localities in Belgium, Greece, Lithuania, Germany, Italy, the Czech Republic and Denmark. While doing the Eurotrails the students experienced the EU influences.

When people visit places, they often look for typical local food, unique sites, exotic scenery. Eurotrails does it the other way round. Eurotrails looks for things we have in common, influences within Europe, links and connections that shape our present-day life in the EU.

Do the Eurotrails and experience the EU influences. Or visit the trails on the website www.euro-trails.eu. Check out the promotional videos. Pay special attention to “End Products and Results” -> “Final Meeting” -> “End Products” where you can find the experimental trails*. Read the students’ diaries for their opinion.

The Young Charlemagne Youth Prize 2012 will help us to promote and disseminate the idea of transnational influences. It will ultimately help us to publish the Eurotrails in brochures and complete the online work.
